I had a metal print made. The colors are vibrant and shiny like glass which is what I wanted for my 1/2 bath

Artist's Description
(Copyright Mel Steinhauer all rights reserved) The city of Manteo on the east side of Roanoke Island faces the Shallowbag Bay. It's a colorful and neat little town full of shops, restaurants and history. This small sailboat is an exact reproduction of working shad boats used over 100 years ago. The cottage-style Roanoke Marshes Lighthouse is also a recent reproduction of the original one that marked the entrance to the Croatan Sound. Both are fine examples that were once common on North Carolina's rivers and sounds. Besides the beautiful scenery, I also enjoyed another trip back in time when I found ... The Manteo Waterfront.
I created this image from my original photograph taken on location by adding digital enhancements, textures or other effects. These effects and image details will become more visible by clicking inside the green magnifier square as the cursor is placed over the image.

About Mel Steinhauer
My love for photography began as a boy when I was taught the basics by my father. During a tour of duty with an Army Combat K9 unit in Vietnam, I bought a professional model Nikon SLR camera and dreamed of becoming an artistic photographer when I returned home. A family of my own and a new career put that dream on hold for many years, but I had always enjoyed photography as an art form. Then, after surviving another kind of war with cancer back in 1997, I began to really see the beauty in our world. Ever since then I have been inspired with a new awareness of life and an improved photographic vision. This has compelled me to find beautiful scenes wherever I go and to share my favorite creations with others who may not have the time or...

Mel..I absolutely LOVE this!...The softness...peacefulness...the calmness of the water...the wonderful clouds..with the pale sunset allowed to come through at the horizon...the white boat with it's striking red mast...and the lighthouse out on the peer....and don't forget the wooden pier which is reflecting the blues and peaches of the water and sky. This is just sooo fantastic...as is most of your work for me! I'm soooo envious! I've been there and love the entire coastline there. Anyway...just had to give you my ooooohhss...and aaaahhhhs..over this one! ;0) Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and wish you a super New Year, my friend! Favorite and a vote!
